This resource looks at how electricity is distributed from power station to consumers along the National Grid. As well as giving an overview of the entire distribution network, it also looks at how step up and step down transformers are used to reduce line loss during transmission and make the voltage safe for use in homes. Other safety features, such as earth rods, insulators and circuit breakers are explained and this DVD gives an insight into the how they play a part in larger scale systems.
